Madagascar Gems and Rough
Bulletin

February 14, 2007

Hello all,

This is the first edition of the Madagascar Gems and Rough Bulletin. While we were at the recent Tucson Gem Shows meeting new customers and potential customers, we heard several themes from you:

Stay in regular communication with us, your customers

Search out and offer more individual pieces

Offer more small parcels

Send the information to us automatically

This Bulletin is designed to answer those requests.

You also let us know with your purchases what you want in the way of rough. You quickly bought all of our ruby, blue and pink sapphire, blue color change garnet, emerald, morganite, and double blue beryl.

You also bought larger pieces of other beryls, apatite, and the various garnets.

We found fewer customers than anticipated for our kilo parcels of 1 to 3 gram sized apatite, rhodolite, and spessartite. We now have several kilos of this beautiful rough in our USA office, and will be offering the material in smaller parcels.

Gilbert has now returned to his home in Madagascar. He thoroughly enjoyed his visit to the USA and Arizona.

Gilbert enjoying the sights and weather of Arizona

His mission now that he is home is to search out and bring to you those large, clean, unique pieces and small parcels that you are requesting.

December through March is the season for daily monsoon rains and frequent cyclones in Madagascar. Gilbert reports that "things are as I left them in late January... it is still raining and the cyclones are still sweeping in from the Indian Ocean. There is much danger while traveling in the bush."

All of this means that the roads are thick with mud, many of the roads are washed away by streams and rivers, and the mines are flooded.

Gem rough is scarce during the rainy season, but Gilbert has traveled to some upland villages and mines and is selectively buying only the best of what is being offered. He has also told several miners what he wants them to provide when mining resumes and quality rough is being recovered.

This new rough will be arriving in the March (and later) bulk shipment.

In each issue of the Bulletin we are going to offer some quality rough to you at a special price. We will set aside a significant quantity of the featured rough and honor the price while the supply lasts.

The special for this issue is our very nice citrine rough for a great price, only $4.00 per gram. . The pieces seem to run from 3 grams to more than 8 grams each. As you can see, the color and clarity is very good...

You can use the email link below to order a parcel. Please specify the total weight or total number of pieces you want. Payment will be through PayPal.

Gem stone rough from Madagascar will make big money for you!
