Sellers of Quality Gem Facet Rough
|
Madagascar Gems is moving ahead... because it is time we did. Madagascar Gems began as an email offer to sell facet rough from Madagascar. We had a few loyal customers scattered around the world. We did not have a website, and we really were not even known to exist by the gemstone trade. Then we began visiting the world-class gem show in the USA. The Tucson Gem Shows and the Las Vegas Gem Shows allowed us to introduce ourselves and our services to many in the gem industry. Those efforts have brought us together with many new customers. As we grow and evolve, we find most of our customers falling into three distinct groups...
We also count a few gem collectors among our customers, but they buy small parcels and sell to other collectors within their groups. What has changed? Madagascar Gems has changed. And so have you. We have grown in customer base and sales volume. That customer base has become more defined and our service should become even more focused on our customers. The needs of many customers have evolved. We are seeing fewer 10 gram parcels ordered, and more 100 gram parcels. Gilbert has relocated our Madagascar operating base to Tulear, on the southwestern coast of the country. This has in turn opened and closed a few doors of opportunity. Our ruby mining concession is located four days travel away from Tulear. We are offering our ruby concession for lease. Are you interested? We have discovered some new gem deposits in the interior of Tulear Province. They are remote but exploitable. We have purchased the mining rights to these grounds from the Madagascar government. Madagascar Gems has entered the gem mining business. We are now operating some of the mines ourselves... reluctantly, and with the assistance of a village leader for one ground, and the village teacher for another ground. We provide work for a number of people from multiple nearby villages. So far we know of several gem deposits on our three mining grounds (2.5 KM square concessions) They are....
To date we have not pursued exploitation of the moonstone and (very recently discovered) beryl. We have opened digs on at least one exposure of the other gems. The variety of colors in the color change garnets promises some interesting possibilities.
These changes and other less significant ones mean that some of our website content is outdated, or at least needs to be refocused. We will be revising the pages on this website as time permits.
Tell us what rough you are interested in, and we can probably get it for you. Just contact us by email (guarded by anti-spam solution).
