Is it Imperial Garnet?

Imperial garnet is what some customers are calling the beautiful material in the photo below... and most (possibly all) of it displays a color shift.

Imperial garnet rough is difficult to come by for most dealers and cutters. That is what I am seeing and hearing from several of  you. I know that the material we are offering is premium malaya garnet... and it may well be what the industry has christened Imperial.

The pieces we recently offered an an email to our mailing list started a flurry of emails and buying. Immediately after we issued the offer email, Gilbert had an opportunity to meet with the miner supplying this great material and negotiate lower prices on the larger pieces.

The premium malaya garnet is coming from a neighboring mine in 1 to 3 gram sizes. This material will cut spectacular gems. By selling to us, we save the miner travel expenses for trips to the capitol, and our customers share in his savings through the lower prices.

We have a couple of 1 gram pieces coming in the next shipment that are available. Send me an email for more information.

Speaking of the next shipment... it should clear Customs tomorrow. I can then begin sending out your orders.

Hotel Békily

Hotel Békily is shown at the top of this Bulletin. The scene shows Gilbert's bungalow when he was there a couple of trips ago. The Madagascar Gems Jeep is parked out front.

That trip was before the rainy season arrived in Madagascar. The rainy season has now arrived, and we have had to put mud tires on the Jeep. You can check the Madagascar weather here

Gilbert just left for another excursion into the bush. He will check progress at some of our mining grounds... and visit some other gem mines to buy for customers.

He should return with color change garnet, color shift garnet, blue-green kornerupine, andalousite (French spelling), chrysoberyl, and possibly other rough requested by customers. I will inform you of available parcels soon.

Here is a photo Gilbert sent showing the delivery of drinking water to the Hotel Békily.

Faceted Stones

We are in discussions with a young lady who wants to sell a variety of colored stones she inherited. Here are the circumstances as she relates them...

Her Grandfather operated a lapidary business in Thailand for a number of years. He willed the stones to her when he passed away last year. The stones are now in her possession in the USA, along with a computer file of descriptions and photos.

She prefers to receive the proceeds from the sale of these stones on a monthly basis, rather than liquidating the entire inventory immediately. This was her Grandfather's wish.

The origins of the stones are said to be primarily Madagascar, Kenya, Tanzania, Cambodia, and Brazil.

Our discussions have resulted in a tentative agreement as follows...

She will send several individual stones or parcels of melee to our USA office each month

She will also provide the descriptions and photos. and her minimum prices

She will establish the minimum prices with the knowledge we are marketing to wholesale customers

We will offer these stones to our customers on a Make An Offer basis through emails

Madagascar Gems will be compensated by receiving 12% of the sale price, plus $5 for shipping

With the time required to do this along with our other activities, we may have to use my wife, Carolyn, and our son David to send these email proposals.

So if you receive emails from them, please respond to them, if you care to make an offer. Each of us will complete the sale of stones we propose to you, and each of us has a PayPal account to receive payments.

We will send these email proposals to other mailing lists that we have developed. We will only send these email proposals to mailing lists that we have developed.

Assuming we reach final agreement with the seller, the program could start by (or even before) the first of next year.
